Aiden’s birthday is coming up.  While we’ve been thinking about presents we got an awesome opportunity to test out some toys.  Wicked Uncle USA gave us a voucher. Aiden is still contented playing near me which is a complete win with an active toddler.  How long can anything really hold this kid’s attention? He’s still playing 2 hours later. Quietly! I know, I’m in shock, too.

Imagination and Active Fun

This morning we unboxed our sponsored toys from Wicked Uncle USA.  We were given $50 to use as we choose to check out some of the awesome toys.  Wicked Uncle is a toy company with the goal to make gift giving easy and has tons of toys, apparel, gadgets, and even school supplies.  

Aiden and I took a look at the website last week.  All he could say was “I want that!”, “I want that!”,  “I want that!” to everything we looked out. There are some many exciting, fun, and educational toys.  

Their site is organized beautifully.  It was so easy to find what we wanted.  From their homepage, you can pick from categories of toys or chose to search by gender and age.  That way even the least child savvy relative or friend can find an age-appropriate toy to give. Or to just keep the ideas under control with your child picking out what they want.  

I looked under the 4-year-old boy section and found 2 toys for us to try out and then search the all-boys toys lowest price and found a free book.  (I highly recommend that last search before putting in your order. There were 2 things under a dollar that day and it looks like it changes daily. Keep an eye out for an awesome deal.)  

These are 3 things we choose to try out: Smartmax Power Vehicles – Magnetic Construction, Firefighters Mini Story Playset – 8 Pieces, & Pocket Doodles for Boys.  I decided to have one of our items wrapped since Aiden’s birthday is a few days away so the Firefighters Mini Story Playset came in wrapping paper.  

Smartmax Power Vehicles

The first thing we opened up was the Smartmax Power Vehicles – Magnetic Construction.

This is a fun and really adaptable toy.  If you have anything from Smartmax the pieces will fit with these ones.  This one comes with 26 pieces that make it easy to make different vehicles and change them to what you want like a flatbed truck, bulldozer, dump truck, tow truck, a ladder truck, forklift, and race car.  

The pieces click together to build and have magnets that can connect together or be towed.  They are so easy to put together. I had to show him at first but he quickly took over and started building them on his own.

The only drawback was that same feature.  Aiden got really frustrated if it wouldn’t go together with the way he wanted.  And some of the pieces have to be put together just right so there’s a little bit of danger for the easily frustrated.  

Even then He loved the flatbed truck and the tow truck.  Aiden pretended that another truck broke down and tow them around or pushed them up onto the flatbed.  He also really liked the large magnetic ball.

Firefighters Mini Story Playset

For our second toy, Aiden’s been asking for a fire truck for his birthday so I thought the Firefighters Mini Story Playset – 8 Pieces toy set would be perfect.  

This one is a wooden toy with figures and a little fire to play with.  The fire truck is in two pieces so it bends beautifully and is the right size to run on our wooden train track.  Which is perfect for my train and truck kid.

The figures are simple and you can put one in the fire truck to do some rescuing.  There are 3 firefighters, a victim, and a fire dog. It looks like a great set for travel and imagination play.  

Aiden put out the fire once or twice by the truck then started putting the fire in different rooms of the house and racing the fire truck to the rescue.  

Finally, our third thing is the Pocket Doodles for Boys book.  This one is definitely for older boys but Aiden will use.  The pages are filled with particularly drawn pictures for him to finish.  

He was quickly excited about all the things to draw.  We’re going to save that one for another day. However, I’m sure it will be full of pictures by the end of the week.

So, all in all, I think Wicked Uncle USA is a great place for the holiday shopping and for birthdays all year round.  We’re really happy with what we got and are probably going to be a looking for Christmas in our house. Go check it out. 🙂
